My 1:6 sculpt (clay not 3D) of Lou Ferrigno as The Incredible Hulk 1977 - 1982. I took visual cues from season 3 when the prosthetics were improved and the green paint/wig looked more natural etc. Still, this version of Hulk isn’t fully screen accurate. Here’s why.

Ferrigno at just 26 at the start of the series had a smooth baby-face. The prosthetics on his nose and brow had no detail or skin texturing, incredibly basic, so the beastliness of the character depended greatly on how much he could face-stretch for that iconic growl. As a practical FX fanatic, I tried to detail the face as any FX studio would have done had one been involved. Ferrigno in his mid-age had a lean face with sharper features which I find more cinematic than his younger self, so referencing a maturer face also played a part in the result. Sorry to displease any diehards. This is in honor of Ferrigno, the icon.

Sculpt is intended for hair application. Look to post ‘How to Wig the Hulk’ for my pictorial DIY guide to apply both hair and brows. Actual fur was used for the pictured custom, but faux fur as found on fluffy handbag etc is just as suitable to simulate that fuzzy olive wig.

DISCLAIMER

Though degassed during the casting process, not all bubbles were eliminated from resin and the cavity of larger ones had to be filled with epoxy clay and painted in a meticulous process. Left visible are mico-bubbles that are so tiny that they appear like pores in the skin. If this is an issue for your personal needs or standards, do not buy this.

As the result of using two different types of clay during the sculpting process, there is a micro line across both upper cheek that are only noticeable in curtain lighting conditions. I did try to erase them but to no avail. Still learning.
